Titleist Vokey SM9 T-Grind Jet Black Wedge
SUPERIOR HANDCRAFTED TECHNOLOGY
Great wedge play comes from shot versatility, distance control and spin. The materials and structure of SM9 wedges represent our most technologically advanced design in all three areas, tuned for precise contact, lower flight and higher spin.
ULTIMATE SHOT VERSATILITY
Your swing is unique and requires a unique wedge. Finding the right grind for your swing type will provide you flawless contact, so you can be prepared to hit every kind of wedge shot in all conditions. For every shot, every lie, every course, there’s a grind fit for your swing.
PRECISE DISTANCE & TRAJECTORY CONTROL
The best of both worlds. SM9 goes to new heights, taking the forward center of gravity (CG) and raising it even further, promoting a more controlled ball flight and solid contact. Hit it closer more often.
MAXIMUM SPIN / NOTHING SPINS LIKE A VOKEY
SM9’s new grooves are cut to the edge to maximize spin. Each Vokey wedge is 100% inspected for utmost quality and performance, and a localized heat treatment is applied to the impact area to double the durability of the groove.
TOUR-PROVEN SOLE GRIND OPTIONS
The ultimate in optionality, SM9 extends the most complete lineup of grind, bounce and loft options, allowing for more creativity and consistency while giving players of any level the ability to create multiple shots into and around the green.
T-GRIND
The narrowest sole in the SM9 lineup, the T Grind is a Iow bounce option with maximum heel, toe, and trailing edge relief, allowing for the ultimate in greenside versatility. The leading edge sits close to the ground in any face position, allowing the club to slide under the ball with ease, making it perfect for firm conditions and precise players vivid short-game imagination.
“Wedge play is an art, and the T Grind brings out the best in the artist,” Vokey said. “The leading edge stays low to the playing surface as the wedge is rotated which allows you to hit a variety of shots from tight lies. This is the wedge that really made Vokey Grinds an important part of our process – and still to this day is a great option.” – Bob Vokey
T-GRIND vs L-GRIND COMPARISON
Both grinds are considered low bounce wedges and require precise delivery, but the T Grind features a narrower forward sole (towards the leading edge) and more aggressive heel, toe, and trailing edge grind compared to the L Grind which allows the leading edge sits closer to the ground, especially on open-faced shots. The WW T Grind has a wider back flange (trailing edge) compared to the SM9 L Grind’s narrow back flange (trailing edge).
